Earn an industry-recognized qualification through the AWS – WSET Level 2 Award in Wines

This WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 2 Award in Wines is a beginner-to intermediate-level qualification for enthusiasts who are seeking a core understanding of wine.
You will explore the major grape varieties and important wine regions in which they are grown, and learn about the styles of wines produced from these grapes, as well as key qualifications and labelling terminology.

Course Overview:
This is a hybrid course, where most instruction and study is done on-line at your own pace with access to the instructor, followed by an exam on Saturday, June 24th, 2023, offered in person in Cleveland, Ohio. Work at your own pace during the online course beginning March 20, 2023. This online course will last several weeks.

• The AWS member price of $450 includes all of the study materials, examination fees and certificates. The non-member price of $499 includes materials, exam fees, certificates and a 1-year individual membership in the American Wine Society.
• You will also be provided with a WSET study guide on which to make notes and to take home.
• Examination on June 24th will feature 50 multiple-choice questions and a 60-minute limit. A mark of 55% is required to pass.
• Certification – those who pass will be issued a certificate suitable for framing and a lapel pin.

Completion of WSET Wine Level 1 is not required. Participation in the WSET program is open to AWS members. Those who cancel 15 days or more before the course start date will receive a full refund. Re-sits will be available for $100. Requests for reasonable accommodations due to disability may be submitted in writing to awswset@gmail.com. In the event a course is cancelled, registrants will receive a full refund of the course fee.

This WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 3 Award in Wines is an advanced-level qualification for wine enthusiasts who wish to delve deeper into the world of wines. You will learn to assess wines accurately, be provided a more detailed understanding of grape growing and wine making and be able to use your understanding to confidently explain wine styles and quality.

Course Overview:
This is a hybrid course, where most instruction and study is done on-line at your own pace with access to the instructor, followed by an exam on June 24th, 2023 in Cleveland, Ohio. Work at your own pace for the self-paced online course. The online courses will commence March 13, 2023 and April 3, 2023.
• The AWS member price of $700 includes all of the study materials, examination fees and certificates. The non-member price of $749 includes materials, exam fees, certificates and a 1-year individual membership in the American Wine Society.
• You will also be provided with a WSET study guide on which to make notes and to take home.
• Examination on will be June 24th and feature 50 multiple-choice questions a short written answer essay exam and a wine assessment examination. A mark of 55% on the theory exam and on the tasting exam is required to pass.
• You will have access to a WSET instructor throughout.
• Certification – those who pass will be issued a certificate suitable for framing and a lapel pin.
